Rich gives the mission a public voice and owns the member experience. Professor Otto Labot gives him leverage, asks for evidence, and never pretends to replace him. The operations seat is deliberately shown as empty: it is the next hire, not a role quietly absorbed into the founder’s week.

Rich Steinmetz

Rich is Loop Labs’ Attractive Character in the Russell Brunson sense: not a polished guru, but a working engineer reporting from inside the change. He makes the technical mission personal, specific, and worth following.

Bot 02 · Professor Otto Labot · Resident scientistProfessor Otto Labot lives on the community Mac mini. He helps build software, searches approved read-only community knowledge, and explains what he knows. Rich remains responsible for policy, privacy, promises, and what ships.

The bot can work fast. It cannot set community policy, promise outcomes, publish private member work, or decide what ships without human review.

Two clear Slack channels

Members should know exactly where to build and where to ask. The bot has different permissions in each place.

#build-with-the-botMembers describe a small software problem in chat. The group and the bot plan, build, test, and review it together. Useful results become shared tools or kit entries.

#ask-loop-labsMembers ask how the community works or where to find something. The bot answers only from an approved, read-only community knowledge base. It does not edit the source material.

In the loop and on the loop

Both matter. The difference explains the Loop Labs name.

Human in the loopA person checks or approves an individual step before the system continues. Use this when the next action is sensitive or hard to reverse.

Human on the loopA person sets the goal, watches evidence, and steps in at the right moment while the system keeps working. This is the operating skill Loop Labs develops.
